Northeast Florida Mizzou Alums rode in comfort to Gainesville on Saturday, October 18, 2014 to watch the defending SEC East Division Champions battle the Florida Gators in “The Swamp”. The bus trip included round-trip transfers from Jacksonville to Gainesville, a pre-game tailgate and a game ticket. The Watch Party included brief remarks by the Chancellor of the University of Missouri, R. Bowen Loftin, Athletic Director Mike Alden, current MAA President Dudley McCarter and MAA Director Todd McCubbin. The group was joined by a contingent of the Mizzou Band, Golden Girls and of course, Truman the Tiger. A short walk to “The Swamp” was not matched by the initial touch of the ball by Missouri as Marcus Murphy raced 96 yards for a touchdown with 11 seconds gone in the 1st Quarter. It only proceeded to improve for the Tigers and they downed the Gators 42-13. It was a wonderful trip and the Chapter wishes to thank Jayson Meyer for his support from MAA and Bryan Derr for the donated refreshments from Anheuser-Busch.
